Free · 45 minutes · Written report
Technical triage.
From a senior engineer.
Tell us what you have. We'll tell you what's salvageable, what's broken, and what it would cost to fix. Honest diagnosis. No sales pitch. Written summary within two business days.
The diagnosis is the deliverable
A real audit. Not a sales call disguised as one.
Most "free audits" you'll find online are 15-minute sales calls with a vague summary. This is different. We block 45 minutes, look at what you actually have, ask uncomfortable questions, and follow up with a written report within two business days.
We do this because it's the highest-signal way to figure out whether we should work together — and because we'd rather hear "no" after 45 minutes than after a $20k retainer.
Three triage tracks
Pick the one that fits
Code & Architecture
You inherited a codebase from a dev shop, contractor, or previous engineer and need to know what you actually have. We read the repo, run it locally, and assess the foundation.
For
You got burned by an agency. Or you bought a startup. Or your last engineer left.
Vendor & Build-vs-Buy
You're deciding between vendors (Stripe vs Adyen, Supabase vs Firebase, OpenAI vs Claude, Algolia vs Elasticsearch) and want a second opinion before signing a contract.
For
Decision deadline pressure. High switching cost. Want an unbiased read.
AI & Engineering Strategy
You know AI matters for your product but you're not sure what to build, what to buy, or what to ignore. We map your use case to a realistic plan.
For
Every founder right now. Especially if your investors keep asking about AI.
What you walk away with

FAQ
Triage questions
What exactly do I get from a technical triage? +
A 45-minute call where a senior engineer reviews your codebase, architecture, or vendor situation. You leave with a clear written summary of what's broken, what's salvageable, and what it would realistically cost to fix — whether you work with us afterward or not.
Is this really free? +
Yes. We do a small number of these every month because they are the highest-signal way to figure out whether we're a fit to work together — and because we'd rather found you say no after 45 minutes than after a $20k retainer.
What if my situation isn't a disaster — I just want a sanity check? +
Perfect. Most triages are not disasters. Sometimes you just want a senior engineer to look at your architecture, your hiring plan, or your AI strategy and tell you whether the path you're on makes sense.
Do you sign an NDA? +
We default to verbal confidentiality, which is sufficient for most triage conversations. If you need a formal NDA before the call, send us yours and we'll sign — assuming it's not unreasonable.
What happens after the call? +
You get a written summary of the discussion within two business days: what we observed, what we recommend, and an honest estimate of effort and cost. From there it's your call: hire us, hire someone else, or take the report and run with it.
Who is doing the triage? +
Eric P. Hassey, our founder. 15+ years building production software, multi-time CTO, R&D 100 Award winner. You're not handed off to a junior or a salesperson.
